Making mulled wine is actually very easy. I suggest to experiment! You can add cognac/brandy/water, add lemon juice/zest. Some mulled wine lovers like few vanilla pods. Follow your instinct really. Garnish you cups/mugs with cinnamon sticks for Christmassy feel.

There are many variations of mulled wine drink. The basic recipe includes a bottle of wine, two or three cinnamon sticks, some cloves and about a cup of sugar. The sugar helps remove the tangy flavor the wine gets once its been warmed up. Some mulled wine lovers also add herbal tea to the mix to cut this harshness. You could also add a shot of brandy/cognac, some citrus slices, or any other spices you like.
